Michelle's Story
In 2015, Michelle van Coeverden opened the doors of Mahara at De Clercqstraat 123 in Amsterdam. She is an adventurist, a seeker for truth, and a mystic, who is happy to open doors and places to all that are seeking for the same.
Mahara came to me in a vision in 2012, while I was on an inner exploration with the Blue Lotus. This majestic flower took me on an astral journey and soon after, I traveled the physical world with a backpack and my scissors.
After I came back from my pilgrimage, I knew that it was time to build a temple and a homecoming for me and my fellow travelers.
Mahara gave way to be birthed into a physical location. And the journey continued.

Ma-Ha-Ra's Origin Story
Mahara is the essence of creation, a living field designed to remind you, and every visitor alike, of the unique life force within us, waiting to be expressed and lived.
In Hermeticisim, the joining of the primordial forces of feminine and masculine is considered the sacred alchemical union that gives rise to life. Rooted in Hermetic wisdom, the name Mahara holds the sacred alchemy of life: Ma, the Mother principle; Ra, the Father principle; and Ha, the Womb where their union gives birth to creation.

The Great Father,
The Masculine Principle

The Womb,

Beyond that, Mahara is inherently tantric:
Inspired by higher Tantra, Mahara teaches us to remember ourselves — through the higher tantra we connect to our mantra, our vibration, through that we connect to our yantra, our blueprint of our highest self, by remembering who we are. Mahara encourages this through inner unity and community.
Mahara’s Urban Sanctuary is a physical manifestation of this living field:
a space where the sacred dance of masculine and feminine, spirit and matter, creation and remembrance, comes alive.
You will never leave Mahara unchanged - it has a way of nudging you toward the opportunities and people that will set you on your path of awakening and self-actualization.
